And that gives it the 11th position of most populous cities of Texas state and 84th in the country. Lubbock got its name after Thomas S. Lubbock, a signer of Texas declaration of Independence. The city is nicknamed “Hub City” as it is the center of region of South Plains.

Lubbock home to Texas Tech University team named the Texas Tech Red Raiders and they play in Big 12 Conference. The university also competes in different sports including football, basketball, baseball and many others. High schools also participate in sports competitions, and it is a prominent feature in city’s culture.

If you are making it to Lubbock and wonder what places that worth being gone to, then National Ranching Heritage Center is an option or Silent Wings Museum or even The Buddy Holly Center.
